Questions come up. Markets do strange things. Software breaks. Traders make mistakes. The goal here isn't pretending that never happens — it's giving you enough to avoid the expensive ones. Don't see your question below? Just ask, we read every message.
Does Wingman ever trade for me, or hold my funds?
No.
Your exchange account stays yours. Your API keys stay yours. Your funds stay yours. Wingman is built to observe, explain, monitor, and protect — not to trade on your behalf.
The one exception is the optional Liquidation Guardian: if you explicitly turn on auto-protect, it can close or reduce a position, only to prevent a forced liquidation. No custody. No hidden automation. No surprises.
Are the liquidation warnings real?
Yes — this is the feature that started the project, and it isn’t just theoretical.
Wingman continuously monitors margin, leverage, account value, and position risk. When danger approaches, it doesn’t just tell you "you’re at risk" — it calculates exactly how much collateral to add, how many contracts to reduce, and how close liquidation actually is.
It’s already worked in real trading — including for the person who built it. One warning gave enough lead time to reduce a position and get back to even before the market turned back in his favor, instead of losing it to a forced liquidation. Another time, an early warning on building sell pressure gave enough lead time to exit a different trade in the green, before the reversal actually happened.
Every warning is still logged and graded afterward against what actually happened, and that scorecard stays visible to you — the wins and the misses both. Trust comes from that measurement, not from a claim we can’t back up.
Is the Simulation account real money?
No — it starts with $100,000 in practice money.
- Live market prices
- Real spreads
- Real 10bps fee math
- Real position sizing and margin math
- The money you’re risking
Does Wingman support live trading, or is it simulation-only?
Both — on purpose, kept as two separate places.
Practice runs at /simulation with $100,000 in fake money. Live trading runs at /trade against your real, connected Coinbase account. They’re deliberately not the same screen — so a mode toggle left in the wrong position can never turn a practice click into a real one.
Learn and test with practice money, then move to your real account when you’re ready. The mechanics carry over; the money doesn’t, until you decide it does.
How do I reset or delete my account?
Reach out through the contact form and we’ll handle it directly — account deletion isn’t self-serve yet since Wingman is brand new.
Something looks wrong, or isn’t working — what do I do?
Tell us what you clicked, what you expected, and what actually happened.
There’s no outsourced support maze and no automated ticket graveyard here — we read every message, and this is genuinely how bugs get fixed, not by us guessing.
Why does Wingman feel different from other trading platforms?
Because it wasn’t built by a brokerage. It was built by someone who trades — who’s been liquidated, missed exits, chased moves, and paid fees they didn’t need to.
Wingman is the tool that person wished existed before paying tuition to the market.
Why is Wingman so focused on explanations, instead of just more indicators?
Most trading software shows you charts, indicators, and numbers, and leaves the "so what" to you.
Wingman tries to answer what changed, why it changed, what matters, and what to watch next. The goal isn’t more information — it’s better understanding.
