Questions to ask about Wingman
Plain answers to the questions people — and their AI assistants — ask most. If yours isn’t here, ask Deb or write to us.
What is Wingman?
Research and trading-assistant software for people who trade on their own Coinbase account. It reads your own account with your own API key and shows what is behind the price: order flow, real versus pulled orders, fees, funding and settlement. It is not a broker or an exchange and it never holds your money.
What does Wingman do that my exchange app doesn’t?
Your exchange shows you the price. Wingman shows you what is behind it: who is actually buying and selling, which big orders are real and which get pulled, how much money it usually takes to move the price, how today compares with the same hour on past weeks, and a line-by-line audit of your own fees and settlement.
Can Wingman place trades without me?
Only if you switch on a protection for a position — the Algo guard, the Profit Protector or the liquidation guard. They are off unless you turn them on. A kill switch stops everything: with trading off, nothing can be placed, closed or edited.
Is this financial advice?
No. Wingman is research and assistant software. It shows facts about the market and your own account; the decisions are yours.
Which exchanges does it work with?
Coinbase only, at this time. Wingman is independent and not affiliated with Coinbase.
Where is my API key kept?
You connect your own Coinbase API key. It is kept in your browser, or — only for the protections you switch on — encrypted on our server so the protection can act while you are away. It is not used for anything else.
What does it cost? Is there a free option?
Every account starts with a free 30-day forensic audit of your own trading: fees, funding and settlement, line by line. Paid plans are listed on the pricing page.
What did the audit find for one member?
For one of our members, the audit caught $16,227 in fees. The pricing page shows what that audit found.
Can I practice first?
Yes. The practice account uses fake money on real, live market data, so you can learn the tools without risking anything.
Is the AI commentary a person?
No. Deb and the Peanut Gallery are AI, and they are labeled as AI everywhere they appear. Their lines are saved and time-stamped.
We do not keep what you ask Deb. Your questions and her answers stay on your device; we only count that a question was asked. Wingman is not investment advice.
